The Awakened Woman

The awakened woman doesn’t
let any man’s wounded sexuality
stand in her way of being brilliant.

She does not hide her beauty,
Does not dull down her vibrant energy,
She shines her light.

And if that means attention,
from men, women, and those she’s meant to serve,
Then great.

She doesn’t stand down when she’s not treated right.
She lets him know what she’s feeling
She holds the masculine accountable
to the action that he’s taken,
without blaming him.

She calls him to respond,
and hold a higher standard
for himself and other men
as we move forward together.

14 Questions to ask a Reiki Master before choosing a Reiki Training

by William Lee Rand

There are many people teaching Reiki classes now. Some are highly qualified and may be just the right teacher for you and others may not have the right energy for your needs.

So, the question is often asked about how to choose a Reiki teacher that is right for you. Here is a list of questions to ask any Reiki master who you are thinking about taking a class from.

  1. How long have you been working with Reiki?
  2. What training have you had?
  3. How often do you teach?
  4. How do you personally use Reiki? What is your lineage?
  5. Will this training initiate me into, or progress me within the Usui lineage? If not, then which lineage is it a part of?
  6. What qualifications are required to take Reiki Training?
  7. What do you cover in your classes? How many hours of class time is included? How much time is instructional, and how much is hands on practice?
  8. What are the specific things I will be able to do after taking the training?
  9. What are your fees, and will I receive a certificate and a manual?
  10. Can I take notes and tape record the class?
  11. How many symbols will I learn?
  12. Is there a Reiki support group in my area or can you help me establish one?
  13. Will you openly support me in being a successful Reiki practitioner or master?
  14. Do you have a positive respectful attitude toward other Reiki practitioners and masters, regardless of lineage or affiliation?

Tests with scientific instruments indicate that electromagnetic fields exist around the body and around each of the organs of the body. The heart, which has the strongest field, which has been measured at a distance of 15 feet from the body.

Faraday’s law indicates that one electromagnetic field can induce currents into a nearby conductor, through this process it induces a similar field around it. In this way, a healer induces a healthy electromagnetic field around an unhealthy organ, thus inducing a healthy state in the organ.

Belief vs. Science

The integration of research science with complementary medicine is a tremendously exciting endeavor, putting some actual empirical evidence on the table for both scientists and sceptics alike.

What is Reiki, really?

There is a scientific explanation for Reiki that is based on studies and factual information. This explanation has been presented as a reproducable hypothesis by James Oschman, Ph.D.

Dr. Oschman is a scientist with a conventional background who became interested in the practice of energy medicine. Through research, he discovered a number of important scientific studies that point to a scientific basis for energy medicine based on the laws of physics and biology. These findings are discussed in an interview, “Science and the Human Energy Field,” published on

The electrical currents that run through every part of the human body provide the basis for Dr. Oschman’s hypothesis. These currents are present in the nervous system, organs, and cells of the body. For instance, the electrical signals that trigger the heartbeat travel throughout all the tissues of the body and can be detected anywhere on the body.

Ampere’s law indicates that when an electrical current flows through a conductor, an electromagnetic field is produced that reflects the nature of the current that created it. Tests with scientific instruments indicate that electromagnetic fields exist around the body and around each of the organs of the body, including the brain, heart, kidneys, liver, stomach, etc. The heart has the strongest field, which has been measured at a distance of 15 feet from the body.

The fields around each of the organs pulse at different frequencies and stay within a specific frequency range when they are healthy, but move out of this range when they are unhealthy. The hands of healers produce pulsing electromagnetic fields when they are in the process of healing, whereas the hands of non-healer do not produce these fields. When a healer places his or her hands on or near a person in need of healing, the electromagnetic field of the healer’s hands sweeps through a range of frequencies based on the needs of the part of the body being treated. Faraday’s law indicates that one electromagnetic field can induce currents into a nearby conductor and through this process, induce a similar field around it. In this way, a healer induces a healthy electromagnetic field around an unhealthy organ, thus inducing a healthy state in the organ. On Self Love – Claire Anstey

JoyGasm is asking Conscious Leaders to share their practices of Self Love that help them stay strong, focused and powerful as they champion their mission to change the world.

If you only had 10 minutes a day for Self Care, what would you DO?

Elena HarderJoyGasm Founder and Self Love Expert

When I read Claire's answer I seriously shouted so loud, "YES!" and then laughed so hard. I'm obviously a huge believer in orgasmic meditations (like JoyGasm), so I was so happy to see a woman like Claire come right out and say it.  Read below the rest of her interview which is awesome too!

What is your take on self-love? Why is it important, and what's the most powerful way you've found to do it?

Self love is self acceptance.. None of us are perfect but the personal development craze has created even more pressure for us as we now often feel that we have to be perfect, think positive all the time and the pressure to be on “purpose” and change the world is massive. Its all nonsense. Self love is about listening to yourself and taking care of where you are right now.

Its important we send more love to our weaker and more venerable parts, so that those parts feel supported and safe. We should never try and hide from them or change them - we just need to support them with love and in time they will dissolve. There is of course a lot more to this but this is my short answer.

What is your biggest struggle in your relationships right now? How has that changed since you started learning about self-love?

So I am single.. My past has been quite tragic in this area over the last 10 years i lost someone through suicide and then when i feel in love again i found out he was leading a double life. I have had a lot of pain, blame and rejection issues to deal with because of these experiences.

Understanding about self love helped me realize that it was up to me to look after my self and understand myself more so that I could support myself. Psychotherapy really helped me release pain and understand my behaviour. I feel that getting therapy was a act of self love and i recommend that everyone does it.

I am now dating, I haven’t meet anyone I have deeply connected with but thats ok. It feels awesome to be able to meet people, enjoy their company and not get caught up on needing them to complete me. Don’t get me wrong I am human and hanging out with couples all the time would unsettle my wounds so I make sure that I always have lots of different types of friends and I make the effort to have a varied social life.

What's the most important skill you've learned to help you deal with the challenges of being in relationships?

Understanding the flow of male and female energy has been a game changer for me. The work of David Deida in particular totally reframed the way I look at dating and my own actions as a woman.

What has been the biggest unexpected challenge you've had in creating your great work in the world?

The biggest issue I have had is with dreamers and creatives. If you have too many working on a project nothing gets done. I never ever thought that this would be a issue, I thought it was the dreamers that helped move the world forward but their is a big difference between dreamers and achievers and it was a big eye opener for me.

Am I doing it right? What does meditation FEEL like?

When I meditated (been thinking of starting again) I felt nothing.
For me should be devoid of feeling.
It feels like calmness, escaping, nature, present,
gratitude, fizzing, vibrating, humming,
Here, acceptance, Conscious, breath, release,
Peace, Being seen, heard and reflected upon,
Mindfulness, centering, openness
That you would benefit from doing it,
rather than asking these questions,
is undeniable.
like you have too much time on your hands,
rolling around on facebook, instagram, pintrest
flowing, scrolling, clicking, being.
A remembrance and reconnection with our divinity.
Unbelievable feeling of love, release and calm.
And yet a connection to soul that goes beyond words.

Sallie Krawcheck

“Good leaders make difficult, messy, uncomfortable decisions all the time. It comes with the territory. When you find yourself facing a dilemma, think about the kind of person you want to be. More than that, think about what you would do if your children were watching. Think of yourself as a role model, and make the ethical choice. If something doesn’t feel right, trust your gut.”

Michele Bousquet

“Even if you feel afraid or it seems unpopular, be courageous enough to embody your whole self at work. Do away with the pretense of a corporate persona. If you lead with an open heart, others will take your example, and you might find you can shift the norms, however modestly, from wherever you are.”

Elaine Dinos

“Wherever you are right now, in this moment, this is your platform for having the impact you desire. If you put all your energy into what you’re doing right here, right now, then the future you desire will find its way to you.”
